Here is an update on what my balcony looks like. Considering it’s not been very sunny and below 20 degrees Celsius so far everything is doing great, except for the cucumber, who are tiny still. @plants #balconygardening #vegetablegardening #homegrown

Good morning, lovely people! This morning's quandary is: do I want to spend my birthday in a 6hr zoom class? Even though I struggle through it, I do feel recharged afterwards. In other news, I think we're gonna have a whole bunch of cucumbers.

Honestly one of the most rewarding things in my life is being able to walk outside & pick actual food that I grew myself.

Gardening is hard. It's a lot of work & a very long wait for something that sometimes, despite your best efforts, might not even yield results.

But when it does, it feels amazing.

Note: the carrots are not shown in first photo because they were pulled up yesterday & already in the fridge. I forgot about them when I took the picture (lol). Cooking details: One of my go-to meals that I eat all the time. It's my version of a cross between stir-fry and fried rice. The vegetables are lightly steamed, then cooked along with garlic, ginger, and eggs. Then quickly sautéed over high heat with white rice & soy sauce. Finished with fresh calamondin juice (also grown in my garden) squeezed over the top.
