How many scams must we endure?
These broken pipe-dreams of the rich,
of the breathless entrepreneur,
among their piles of cash they hitch
the risks to us through means obscure.
At some point they must have purpose,
these words we write one another.
All the empty ones are worthless
and blur our lives' vital sharpness.
Meaningful words make a rupture.
To craft a viral social post
self-righteous anger does the job.
Panic, besides, bothers the mob,
or if you're not an upright snob
a clever lie writ as riposte.
