In an interview …Trump was asked about govt programs that he would slash in a 2nd term. “We’re going to do, like, Department of Interior,” he said in response.
It remains unclear whether Trump wants to eliminate the or merely reduce its budget & staffing levels.

Career employees exited the Dept in droves during ’s 4 yrs in office. At the end of his presidency, there were 4,900 fewer employees at the agency…, acc/to data from the OPM.
The exodus was especially large at ’s Bureau of Land Management, which oversees roughly 245 million acres of . After Trump briefly moved the BLM’s HQ from DC to Grand Junction, CO, >87% of the employees either resigned or retired.
