Now watching Zelda Williams' & Diablo Cody's Lisa Frankenstein on #Peacock.
I really liked Kathryn Newton in both Supernatural and Freaky, plus I love Jennifer's Body, so I'm excited to see this one.
Heads-up horror peeps, the first season of From is on Prime Video, if you haven't already watched it on MGM+ (formerly Epix). It's really good and pretty damn creepy.
I saw one of the sequels in college (3 or 4?) at the drive-in but I don't remember a single f-ing thing. We were hotboxing and I was so high, I couldn't even move my neck. I think I saw two hours of pretty lights.
Rewatching The Tall Man (2012) on #Tubi and it never fails to blow my mind that the writer/director is the same guy who created Martyrs & Incident in a Ghostland, which you probably couldn't pay me to watch 👀
#NowWatching Spielberg's made-for-TV movie, Something Evil (1972), starring Darrin McGavin. The transfer is terrible but I'm wildly curious because the description sounds folk horror-y.
Moving on... #NowWatching American Gothic (1987) on #Tubi. An 80's slasher I somehow haven't seen even though I remember the VHS cover from Blockbuster. It stars the late, great Yvonne De Carlo (Lily Munster) as an unhinged backwoods matriarch.
Soavi's The Church, aka one of the several Demons 3 (Italian horror movie franchises are bonkers), makes a great double feature w/ Lamberto Bava's Demons or Carpenter's Prince of Darkness 🤘
I love this movie so hard & not enough horror fans have seen it. I'd also argue that--while it's definitely gory--being a Clive story, it's interesting gore w/ a narrative purpose. The goal isn't to try to make you barf or go to therapy.
Currently watching the unrated director's cut of The Midnight Meat Train (2008) on Vudu. I always forget the 00's were the Blue Filter era of filmmaking.
