Niger protesters demand US troop withdrawal

> Hundreds took to the streets of #Niger's capital, Niamey, on Saturday to demand the departure of #US troops.

> #BurkinaFaso and #Mali are also run by military juntas and all three states maintain good relations with #Russia. The three countries in the #Sahel region set up a joint force to combat long-running Islamist insurgencies in March.

A few days ago in the Philippines schools had to close to keep children safe during a heatwave.

The same just happened in Kayes, Mali where the temperature reached 48.5ºC on Thursday (Apr 4) https://www.rfi.fr/fr/afrique/20240404-mali-kayes-suffoque-sous-une-chaleur-record

This area is also at high risk of heat-humidity stress as we continue heat.
