Anyone ever done a 'community project bingo card'? Don't think people have any idea how broken the system is and how much social work type stuff small, poorly funded local organisations like us have to do. This week I have spent hours talking with hospital, police, post office and train station staff, council, housing team, GP surgery to track down a missing person and get them the help they need. Hopefully all sorted now .. absolutely none of this is my job but we have the local connections to do it. For those of you wondering where social services fits in, I could not get hold of social services at all.. was on hold for an hour and gave up. If you are able to financially afford to donate to good causes.. please look around and see who is doing community work in your area. I guarantee all of them are doing similar #SocialWork#Crisis stuff to us and struggling with funding. One-off or monthly #donations via online sites will all include #GiftAid if donors are UK tax payers so your money goes a lot further and regular income is hugely important for all of us.
