Families who fled their homes in Gaza City amid the Israeli ground offensive have arrived at an evacuation centre in the refugee camp without food, water or their belongings.
A displaced Palestinian mother Zaman Abu Ouda said that when the Israelis ordered the evacuation of Gaza City they didn’t give any time for people to pack even the most basic items for survival.

Ola Nassar holds on to the keys to her home in the northern Gaza town of Beit Lahiya. For her, they symbolise “safety, stability, freedom. It’s like my identity”.
Nassar, her husband and three children now live in a tent in al-Mawasi after being displaced seven times.
“Every displacement we experienced was hard because it takes time to cope. And by the time we cope we’d have to move again,” she said.

Israel’s new #evacuation order for Khan Younis and Rafah covers about a third of the Gaza Strip making it the largest order of its kind since residents were ordered to evacuate northern Gaza in October.
The evacuation order leaves Palestinians with an impossible choice between again relocating to somewhere with barely any space or services or staying where they know heavy fighting will take place.

“We came from the eastern area then we moved to the European hospital, then we went to Rafah, then we came back to Bani Suheila, then we returned to Nasser hospital and now we just went up the Somood camp,’ Al-Bairam said of his search to find safety for his family from Israeli attacks.
“It is tiring, tiring, tiring. This time we did not take anything with us. There is no time to carry anything.”
