The Philippines has heightened its defense capabilities as a way to 🔹combat China’s activities in contested waters.🔹

An updated modernization project called Re-Horizon 3 was approved in January highlighting the Philippine government’s plan to spend up to $35 billion in 10 years to bolster its defenses.

Part of its updated posture includes the acquisition of modern weapons and equipment to respond to emerging threats.

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) is waiting on India’s delivery of ⭐️medium-range supersonic cruise missiles,⭐️
expected to arrive this week at the Clark International Airport in Pampanga City.

    To wrap this minithread up, the sole reason why the is even considering acquiring the is that the Brahmos-NG (New Generation) is coming soon. Among the improvements is a substantial decrease in weight which enables a light combat aircraft () like the to carry two of them.

    The , and don't have operational supersonic cruise missiles so the / / can't give us that capability.

    In mid-April, the ’ 1st Multi-Domain Task Force deployed the Mid-Range Capability (MRC) missile system to Northern for military exercises.
