A Texas judge has ruled that a high school was not violating the CROWN Act by punishing student Darryl George for the length of his dreadlocks. George has been in in-school suspension of at an off-site disciplinary program for most of the school year since August. The school said that George's hair violated a dress code regarding length of boys' hair; the family argued that protective hairstyles — which are covered by the CROWN act — require a certain amount of length. The family plans to appeal the decision.

I'd like to say, "just another day in Texas," however we all know what is happening in our collective governments. It's not only the southern US. Hell, it's not only the US. No shaved or cut patterns, no "unnatural" hair color, no male hair past the eyebrows. no male earrings or nail polish. no sunglasses or hats in the building. no flip flops/slides, no unhemmed edges or holes in jeans or shirts. My high school in mississippi in the early 80s wasn't any worse.

Besides, there are various cultures where long hair on men is needed, such as among Rastafarians and Sikhs who have religious reasons.

It’s not clothing. And dress codes are sexist and often racist too. This is just oppressive, coercive control.
