‘Operation Al-Aqsa Flood’ Day 112: In a historic moment, ICJ moves forward with genocide case against Israel
While the court stopped short of calling for a ceasefire, Israel is ordered to allow aid into Gaza, punish incitement to genocide, and take more protective measures for civilians – even as the situation on the ground remains cataclysmic.
@KeesD92@mondoweiss@palestine ooh the IOF have found Mastodon. Done enough hasbara at the office today? Defended killing of another hundred kids? How brave and macho of you.
@KeesD92@mondoweiss@palestine dunno. With all the communism and not believing in god stuff... But sure, I wasn't a genocidal boot licker. That might help. For you hell, if it exists, is quite certain and if it's anything like Gaza you're gonna have a hot eternity.
For much of civil society this interim ruling is historic, puts Israel on the deck, gives boost to calls to halt a genocide.
For those right now living under bombardments, this interim ruling is rhetoric
that tells them they are being wronged and asks the wrong-doer to do something about it.
This is classical international diplomacy. It leaves us with a feeling of winning something without having won anything.
