Starmer’s Labour won a landslide only thanks to Tories’ unpopularity and the quirks of the electoral system. Starmer won his seat with 18884 votes this time compared to 36,641 in 2019. Starmer’s purge of pro-Palestinian candidates cost him a lot of votes. The pro-Palestinian independent candidate in his constituency came in 2nd with more than 7000 votes. Corbyn, who got kicked out of the party by Starmer, won his seat as an independent. @palestine

Labour would have won more votes if Starmer had not purged candidates who stood against Israel's total destruction of Gaza. Starmer himself lost nearly half of his votes compared to 2019. A Labour shadow minister lost his seat to a pro-Palestine independent candidate. It's ironic that Starmer calls himself a human rights lawyer.

"Starmer calls himself a human rights lawyer. "

is a human rights lawyer. He really is. Qualified and everything.

And Harold Shipman was a GP.

@JimmyB @palestine Starmer obviously no longer cares about human rights. So maybe he no longer calls himself a human rights lawyer. In that case, I should correct my post.

@JapanProf
Oh he loves to be thought of as a Human Rights lawyer. On paper he was one. I'm sure he would be delighted to be called a human rights lawyer.

On paper, I can play the violin.

Starmer is a human rights lawyer - and a genocide facilitator.
