/ Hundreds of EU Staff Rebuke Leadership's Gaza "Apathy"

More than 200 staff members of European Union institutions and agencies have signed an open letter expressing grave concerns over the EU's response to the humanitarian crisis in amid the ongoing conflict between and Palestinian militants.

The letter urges EU leaders to officially call for an immediate ceasefire, release of hostages, and halt arms exports to Israel by member states, stating the current inability to respond goes against core European values.

It argues that the 's "continued apathy" toward the Palestinian plight risks normalizing the use of brute force over an international rules-based order - contrary to the founding vision of promoting peace in Europe after WWII.

Organized by a small group, the letter exceeded expectations by garnering over 200 signatures from staffers dismayed at the EU's silence despite NGOs' desperate pleas.
