I used to go to FNAC for all my media related needs, and although it has reduced the size enormously, it still valid for new releases and the staff usually knows a bit about what they're selling. Mediamarkt was good for "bottom crawling", as they usually have baskets of discounted "we have too many" items, so it was a good chance for getting 70-90% discounted movies, and not all bad.
