@dlakelan@economics-that-works I wish they'd bust the actual service that owns the program, and strike it down as monopolistic. Which it is, of course. Price fixing is the way the 1% get rich.
This is a giant bag of offal. The company itself is obviously a price fixing service. But i'm not sure how to combat this problem overall. Some of these companies own tens or hundreds of thousands of units over multiple states, and they need to be broken up too. Or maybe they need to become public utilities and have their pricing set by committee. I dunno.
@dlakelan@economics-that-works I think the feds will probably have some really punitive recommendations, like seizing all the properties and selling them off. That's when you start hitting them hard. That would bring down rental properties nationwide.
