This week I've been mainly reading, no. 130.

Susanna Clarke's short novel Piranesi (2020) is set (mostly) in another place: a labyrinth; a classical building filled with statues & floods, where our narrator lives. The novel offers a slow reveal of how he got there & the crime(s) of those who keep him there. Its both unsettling & compelling, but offers a well-imagined (and plausible) alternative reality. A quick but enjoyable read as long as realism isn't your thing.
