@ml @plantscience @academicchatter yeah, I was there for a bit. It just didn't vibe with me like this has. I closed my account and left. I wish more professional societies were willing to stand up their own instance even if they didn't allow registrations, just having that control to share information and control the messaging seems like a no-brainer to me. But then, outsourcing...

@plantscience @academicchatter Lots of likes and some boosts for this post above, but no replies. I think that says something about the state of Plant Science Mastodon... If you want to change that, please reply. It would be nice to start an (a)synchronous plant science/botany/hort/ag chat here as a way to develop connections with one another and expand our community.

Also, does an agricultural researcher trying to cut stoma counts on leaves “to make them more resilient” to climate change strikes me as totally whacked. Or he’s digging for billionaire funding.

It is on their roadmap and that might eventually make organizing via topic a bit easier! I hope that is correct @MastodonEngineering?

A bit sad but maybe they will come back someday, or maybe someone the ActivityPub + BlueSky Bridge will finally launch and then you can continue to follow them here!
