Zoomers aren’t even 30 yet and the oldest of Alphas (incl. my daughter) are just preteens. That said, you’re right, they are in grave danger of having the wool pulled over their eyes by viral disinformation campaigns; however, they have massive potential to use all that for benevolent purposes. We also have some time and opportunity yet to teach them the importance of civic duty and the critical thinking they will need to combat the gauntlet of scams they’ll be running through in the years to come.

That’s pretty much my argument, yeah. Also, to the people who support Israel because they want to usher in the return of Christ: they’re trying to force god’s will. He already had a circlejerk with another poster talking about how China can do it in days (because no osha, you know), and then! said it could also be done more inexpensively by reusing the steel from the collapsed bridge, that, you know, is structurally compromised by the collapse and I can’t imagine the water it’s submerged in is good for its integrity either

Exactly. Last November, there were two candidates running for the board of a local school, not even the district itself, more like a local education center. It’s a nonpartisan position but there’s no such thing as an apolitical elected office, so I did my research. One was a garden variety conservative, so she sucked, the other was a Mom For Liberty, so, you know. I had no choice, I ended up leaving that part of the ballot blank because there was nobody else trying for the job, and now some petty fascist is directly affecting policies at this one education center. It may not be much, but it’s a start, and brain worms spread quickly.

Wanna make change happen? Fucking do it then instead of complaining and expecting there to be a viable candidate at the top when there are none at the bottom.
