So far that is the case.

The most recent news I can find in a quick search is "We're hoping our podcast platform will support full video in the early part of this year" from 4 months ago. Though another comment on that post said "We're still actively working on full video podcasts. Hoping to have some news on that in the coming weeks", soooo.....

The TLD TL;DR is basically that domains don't come out of nowhere. Just like how you need a lemmy.zip domain to be able to have the subdomains next.lemmy.zip or old.lemmy.zip, in order to have the domain lemmy.zip you must first have someone to run the .zip top-level domain (in this case, Google)

Like Forester mentioned in the other comment, you can have any combination of letters you want as a TLD, you just have to set up and manage all the infra for it (or find somebody else to do it for you)

It's just your OpenStreetMap username, doesn't have to a real name. You can set "your name" to be some anonymous gibberish if you'd like

Before even getting into the episode, I must complain about the episode art: The highway sign says "ROUTE" and has the shape of a US Highway shield (which is often called "route", so that's correct), but is then colored like an Interstate Highway shield, which is a very different system and should not be confused (US (and state) routes are basically just normal roads, just higher priority, and Interstate highways are major controlled-access thoroughfares with much stricter design standards)

Well, looks like it works so far! @Demigodrick I was about to suggest not posting the backlog, or at least limiting it, but seeing as there were only 3 posted here and the feed goes back 10, I take it you already though of that

Now that I think about it, it would also be nice to add some title formatting kinda like the autoposts. Then these could be tagged as "[Newsletter] Feb 26: ...."

Knowing some Russian/Cyrillic, I beat them to the actual meaning, but was still annoyed I didn't make that jump myself. Though maybe if I had written it down, it would've been more obvious: Kohuept / Концерт.

How do people here feel on Lateral highlights now?

I used to make posts for each episode (like this one), but stopped as they hardly got any engagement and just weren't worth the effort I was putting in. Should I bring them back? Does Lateral hold more interest now with main channel videos out of the way?

Honestly, just more than 5 upvotes would be appreciated. I know this is a small community on a small platform, but when I can count the number of people who like the Lateral posts on one hand, while videos tend to get at least 20 points, that's a notable underperformance.

Even this post is +19, I'll take that as a sign and try again for the next episode this Friday
