Finally getting back to writing Book 5 of The Silk Rope Masters. It's slowly coming together - all those green lines mean I'm happy with the chapter for the time being.
I had hoped it would have been completed by now but Cancer stuffed up my progress. I'm still trying to get used to the many side effects from radiation and drug therapy.
I'm right chuffed to see "The Dent in the Universe" has made it onto Nerds of a Feather's 2024 Hugo Award Recommendation List for Best Novel. I don't know how I rose to their attention but it is a tremendous honor to be on that list alongside the likes of Salman Rushdie and Martha Wells.
Haiku:
hustle and hustle,
city teems life and light,
alone in a crowd.
Not a haiku:
london buzzes about
buses, tubes, and planes rumble,
past, under, and above me.
people packed shoulder to shoulder shuffle,
by a secluded patch of green,
where i sit, think, and be
welcomingly lonely.
the second poem was inspired by my time in london at lse where from time to time I would sit in queen square gardens.

Only if she can learn that not everything is what it seems...
